Scottish Cup of Friendship
The Scottish Quaich is a two-handled loving cup for the wedding feast. From it the couple take their first drink together as a married couple. They also use the quaich at the reception for their first toast as man and wife.
Symbolic of the sharing between the couple, the Scottish Quaich is an ancient vessel used by two families or clans, to celebrate a bond, with each leader partaking of the offered drink.
Usually whisky or brandy was served in the quaich. The cup was presented using both hands, and received with both hands.
The distinctive shape has remained unchanged over the centuries and all our Scottish Quaichs can be engraved with the couples' names, Wedding date and venue to make a superb souvenir. They also make excellent gifts for your Wedding guests.
These handsome Celtic Handled Quaichs are supplied in silk lined presentation boxes. The sizes listed are the diameter of the bowl not including the handles.
