On a lightly greased non-stick board roll out White Mexican or Petal Paste. Grease the cutter, place onto the paste and press firmly.
The pieces can be either moistened and attached onto the cake or dried on a sponge pad then dusted with edible lustre dusts and added as a raised decoration.
